Srinagar: Secretary Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Simranjeet Singh on Wednesday said that ration under “ one nation, one ration” scheme would be offered to consumers on trial basis without Aadhar identification for the months of July and August but from September onwards the ration would be supplied to consumers only on Aadhar identification.
Talking exclusively to Kashmir Horizon the Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Simranjeet Singh rebutted the public complaints that the officials are forced to register non J&K residents for ration supply under “one nation, one ration” scheme and said “the consumers will be provided ration under ‘one ration, one nation’ scheme even without aadhar identification for the months of July and August but from September onwards ration would be supplied to consumers only on the basis of Aadhar authentication”. He said “the ration to non residents of Jammu & Kashmir would be supplied to them on the ration cards of their parent states and union territories”, adding that “ presently the Jammu & Kashmir Government is supplying ration to 72 lakh consumers”
In reply to a question he said that there is no bar on bio metric attendance of the government employees as per advisory of World Health Organisation post COVID-19 spread and claimed that some vested interests are creating false impressions over the application of biometric attendance in government departments among the people under the garb of COVID-19 guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
