JAMMU: To strengthen the Auqaf Board and streamline its functioning, Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma Tuesday asked the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu province to conduct a detailed survey of all Auqaf properties and submit the list of the assets within their respective districts.
Chairing a virtual meeting, the DCs were asked to provide the detail of the assets in a prescribed format being provided to them. The Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting through a Video Conference.
The meeting discussed in detail the procedure to be adopted for the exercise and the DCs were asked to include attestation of mutations, encroachments, recovery of arrears, acquisition and possession of Specific Auqaf properties in the survey report.
While instructing the DCs to identify and remove unauthorized construction/ encroachments of any nature, the Divisional Commissioner said illegal structures built on the state land by way of encroachment should be removed expeditiously.
Meanwhile, the Div Com also sought feedback from on B2V3 program from the DCs. The Divisional Commissioner said that Back to Village programme is devised to enable, strengthen and foster the pace of rural development. He asked the DCs to persuade the people to come forward and avail benefits of welfare schemes of the government to improve their socioeconomic condition.
Verma said that the ‘Back to Village’ programme aims to involve the people and government officials in a joint effort to deliver the mission of equitable development. The programme is aimed at energizing Panchayats and directing development efforts in rural areas through community participation.
