Srinagar: In an interesting development, the administration of Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday directed departments to refrain from recommending cases for revalidation of select list/ wait list which have lost their validity prior to October 31, 2019 due to change in legal framework of J&K.
In a circular commissioner secretary, General Administration Department (GAD) Manoj Dwivedi Tuesday advised departments to refrain for recommending the cases for re-validation of select list/ wait list in relaxation of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Decentralization & Recruitment Rules (2010), which have lost their validity prior to October 31, considering the change in legal framework and re-organization of the erstwhile state.
The GAD commissioner secretary has pointed out that most of the cases being sent to the department for revalidation have lost their validity prior to October 31, 2019.
“It has been further observed that the departments justify the cases on the basis of procedural delays in processing such cases at various levels,” read the circular.
On October 31, 2019, the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was formally reorganised into two Union Territories- J&K and Ladakh. Before August 5, 2019 changes were effected, only permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir were eligible for government jobs
